Masturbation class - women only - May 26th at Good Vibes in Berkeley
I'm going to be teaching a free Masturbation Master class for women at the Good Vibrations store in Berkeley on May 26th from 7- 8:30pm. If you haven't had the chance to attend one of my classes yet this might be a great opportunity. It's one of the few classes I'm scheduled for this year that is free and open to the public. I'll be covering techniques and toys in a fun and playful manner. Carol Queen is teaching a similar workshop in San Francisco on May 19th. I may attend that one as a visitor. Carol is a phenomenal educator! Here's the info: DATES OF Saturday, May 19th- Mixed Class (all welcome) feat. Carol Queen OPERATION: Saturday, May 26th- Women Only Class feat. Heather Powers Both classes will take place from 7-8:30PM. DETAILS: As part of our celebration of National Masturbation month, GV will host 2 classes aimed to help customers learn how to masturbate. Carol Queen’s class (which will be open to everyone) will take place at the Polk St. store May 19th, and Heather Powers’s women-only class will take place at the East Bay Store on May 26th. Both classes will be free of charge for interested parties to come and take part in this exciting and informative class that will explore various masturbation techniques, including how to use some of our toys and other products. Light refreshments will be served. |

Good Vibrations - Women like me Campaign - Get your pic taken!
Have you guys heard about the upcoming Women like Me photoshoots? Its a fabulous campaign where Good Vibrations will be using photographs of real women from all backgrounds to promote positive sexuality & sexual health. The best part is that YOU, our loyal customers can volunteer to be models! All that you have to do is show up at the Polk street store on Wednesday or Friday night and get your photo taken. We'll mail you a copy of your picture after the event. There will even be free refreshments served. If you feel like the face of sexuality has been too narrowly defined, come join us! Here's a copy of the Press Release Good Vibrations will be starting a new line of Health-Oriented programming in our stores called "Women Like Me". Through this programming, which will feature in-store events, seminars, and partnering with outside resources like Lyon-Martin, GV will attempt to bring together women from all walks of life who might be going through various health issues such as menopause, breast cancer, body image, etc. and provide them with valuable information and resources as well as a sense of community. To kick off this event we will be creating a photo montage featuring as many different women as possible. That is where you come in! This week at the Polk Street Store on Wednesday April 25th from 5:30-8PM and Friday April 27th from 5-9PM we will be having a photo shoot for the Women Like Me project. The photos will be used to promote Women Like Me programs and we want to feature women that represent a wide range of ethnicities, ages, sizes, economic backgrounds, etc. So, if you would like to get your photo taken and/or have friends and family that would like to participate please contact Allison in Marketing at: 415-974-8983 x203 and we'll set up a time. All photo sessions are approximately 10 minutes long and there will be refreshments served. You will also get a copy of your photo from the session (but please be aware they will be sent out to you and will not available the night of the photo shoot). lawyers suck
So....it seems that my back is getting worse and I'm having trouble keeping up with medical bills etc so I tried calling personal injury lawyers to see if I can get some help from the insurance company of the woman that hit my car. Essentially what I keep getting told is "if your car wasn't damages we have no interest" over and over again. It seems that since my car isn't a wreck, somehow they're unwilling to deal with the fact that I might be. If anyone knows of a Northern California lawyer who might take this kind of case please let me know. GRRR! Current Mood:  aggravated |

Yes I know I totally suck about keeping things updated these days. The past few months have been taking a toll on me both emotionall and physically. To give you a clue how tough its been, my basic routine was going something like this: Monday work 9-5 in SF school 5-9 in the East Bay Tuesday internship in Marin8-4 (8-6 every other week) Wednesday internship 8-3 in Marin 3-9 school in East Bay Thursday work in SF 9-6 Friday internship in Marin 8-8 On top of that I've still been doing workshops for the Center for sex and culture on occasion and attempting to have some semblance of a life. With all of that craziness, I'm only getting paid for less than 20 hours a week of work. Its exhausting! |

Car Accident
About a month ago I was on my way to my internship and got involved in a small but annoying 4 car accident. A car two behind me simply didn't stop when she hit the bumper to bumper traffic on 580 and slammed into the car behind me. My car is fine but they had to drag me off in an ambulance to get my back and neck checked out so I wasn't able to get anyones insurance info that day. The police in Oakland are giving me a hard time about finding the police report and my back still hurts like hell but hopefully I'll find a lawyer who can clear all of that up for me eventually. With my schedule, an accident definately wasn't something I needed! |

Yeah I know Ive been MIA
Sorry I've been so absent lately. I'm trying to determine the future of the site and its one of those things that I'm still very up in the air about. It's clear that I can't continue it as is, but how to fit it with my current life is a question I still don't have the answer to. I'm blogging at gvsextips.com quite a bit though and occasionally on goodvibrationsblog.com. Are any of you politics junkies? I managed to pay my rent just in time! Not that I should be buying myself anything until late September when I have a more stable income but.... If anyone runs across the Jellyfish box set called Fanclub for a reasonable price let me know. The only place online that has it wants $399 and thats just insane! |

My supervisor fucked up and didn't add my training bonus onto my check so now I'm $180 short on rent. I am so angry! I sent her two emails stressing how important it was that I got that money today, one the day I had to turn in payroll and one the day that she had to sign off on it and made it clear that I wouldn't be able to make rent if she didn't add it on. I believe I even wrote "if theres a problem please let me know so that I can work it out in time" Bah. I don't even think I have anything left that I can make that much money off of quickly. I am so fucked. |

money = depression
I had this brilliant idea about inviting a bunch of people to the Parkway to see Clerks2 on my birthday next week...then I made the mistake of actually looking at my checkbook and figuring out how close to broke I actually am. IF (and this is a huge if) I get my good vibes check, my center for sex and culture check, no one cancels a rebill on the website, I dont get my medication or vitamins, only go to work and back so that I can live on the tank of gas already in my car and I don't buy anything at all including grocerie then I'll have exactly $20 to live on for the next two weeks. That includes paying my august rent two weeks late. If my landlord cashes my rent check this coming week instead of after Friday when I get money deposited from these outstanding checks i'm hoping will pour in, then I'll have $0 to live on for the next two weeks because my bank will take the $20 for overdraft. Um...fuck! There is an upside to it all. I'm half way through grad school, I have a promising internship ahead of me, I have a part time job that will be giving my benefits starting in September so I'll be able to get the medication I should be on more easily. So what if I have to skip my birthday again. Look at how far I've come from being a homeless teenager with a seventh grade education wondering where I'll be sleeping that night. My rent may be late but my apartment rocks. |

Late night buffet....muppets
The new muppet pilot was awesome but exhausting. Brian henson and bill baretta look completely drained from holding up the new heavy characters. The guest stard were kinda lame but hal sparks was leaving as we got there. The new muppet bandleader luisia capelini was hilarious. It was amazing standing on the henson lot without fear of getting chased off by guards :) I didn't bring my camera in but here's nikka and I in the car going home lol |

Labyrinth screening
The screening was awesome and finished up with a panel discussion with brian henson, the froud family and others who were part of the film. Upstairs in the academy exhibit they had an animatronic exhibit that included a lot of the henson creatures along with johnny5, gremlins, predator, etc. It was uber cool. Nikka and I spent the whole ride home talking about what its like to feel like someone doesn't love you enough to make you a priority and why we allow ourselves to get sucked in by people who aren't as invested as we are. Sigh |

I'm in LA for a muppets weekend. Yep...you heard me right...a muppets weekend! Tonight they're having a cast and crew reunion of Labyrinth at the uber fancy Goldwyn theater in Beverly Hills. On Saturday they're filming a pilot for a new Muppet based talk show called Late Night Buffet. As if the filming itself isn't exciting enough, its filming on the Henson Lot so I finally get entry into the holy land of Muppetdom! Thankfully I work for an amazingly flexible company so I was able to have my meetings from the offices in Southern California where dear friend (who you guys know as Nikka)currently works. I finally got my schedule for the fall. It's going to be completely insane! Not including supervisor meetings and doing homework my schedule is going to be 9-9 Monday through Friday with a few weekends where 9-5 classes are required. On top of that 1/3 of my time is in the East Bay 1/3 in San Francisco 1/3 in the North Bay so I'm going to have at least 2 hours of driving on most days added into that time. Hopefully after December my schedule will slow down a bit! GoodVibes is going well although there are alot of server issues. I'm going to be a contributing editor to the Good Vibes Sex Tips Blog http://www.gvsextips.com/ shortly. I've already written two entries that should be up within a few days. My friend Megan came out to visit me for a week and that was a nice change. We spent alot of time hanging out and "ahem" enjoying each other. I know that the whole idea of having someone else sleeping next to me at night for a week was killing Seth but I can't live my life waiting for him to figure out who he is in love with. I wish that the whole situation with him tortured me less but there isn't much that I can do about it right now. |
